Robert arrived in Vietnam and was assigned
to serve with Bravo Company,1st Battalion,
9th Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
During Operation Buffalo Bravo Company was
traveling in the vicinity of Route 561,3
kilometers northeast of Con Thien when they
were ambushed by NVA hostile forces.Robert
died as a result of a gunshot wound that
penetrated his chest from hostile rifle fire.
