Carol was born in Sandusky, Ohio and spent her childhood there. She was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School, and was a member of St. Stephens United Church Of Christ.
After moving to Parma, Ohio in the mid 1960's as a young adult, she attended Cuyahoga Community College. During this time she became passionate about social issues, becoming a member, and eventually President of The Parma League of Women Voters. She worked tirelessly in those days in an effort to get the Equal Rights Amendment passed. Moving to Jefferson, Ohio in the mid 1970's, she became a real estate agent with Jim David Realty, and spent nearly 20 years in various administrative positions with The Gazette Printing Co. More recently she was quite proud of her service with the Senior Employment Center in Ashtabula. Watching the sunday morning news shows was a ritual at her house and like many of us she was a frustrated Cleveland Browns fan.
Carol leaves behind a son, Stewart Parker Hawk, II, and a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Hawk, both of Shelby, Ohio, a brother, Ben W. Buser (Mary), of Sandusky, Ohio, sister in law and dear friend Mary Jo Huffman of Dallas,Tx., and 9 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr.and Mrs. Ben W. Buser Sr., and a nephew, David Huffman.
