William Robert Dobbins (1862-1909)
James Montgomery Dobbins (1864-1951)
Mary Evalelah Dobbins (1865-1943)
Walter's father, in March 1856, was elected as the first sheriff of Lampasas County, Texas. By 1860, he was back to his most common occupation, farming.
In 1873, another child was born into the Dobbins family, completing the siblings with the birth of Henderson Bly Dobbins (1873-1925)
On 7 Feb 1892, Walter married Mary Ida Kemp. Their first child, Emma Lee Dobbins was born 1893. Two other children were born into the family prior to the 1900 Federal Census; Walter H Dobbins (1896-1983) and Ethel M Dobbins (1899-???).
At the time of the 1900 Census, Walter was a farmer in Lampasas County, Texas. Between then and the 1910 Census, another two children joined the family, Bessie Beatrice Dobbins (1906-???) and Dora B Dobbins (1909-???). Walter was still a farmer in 1910.
He lost his wife on 17 May 1918, she was just 46 years old.
In 1920, Walter was working for the railroad and lived with only two of his children still at home, Bessie and Dora.
Then when the 1930 Census came around, Walter was back to farming again.
Walter lived to the ripe old age of 83 when he passed away.
