He was born October 13, 1918, in Abilene to Minnie and Charlie Statham. He has been a resident of Howard County for over 80 years. He married Cara "Bobbie" Vaughn, September 14, 1943, in San Angelo. She preceded him in death on September 12, 1980. He worked on farms and ranches all of his life in Howard County, and was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters: Lois Fear of Haskell and Linda Bordofske and her husband Calvin of Big Spring; two sons: Mac Statham of Big Spring, and Carl Statham and his wife Karen of El Paso; one brother: Leroy Statham of Big Spring; one sister: Mary Wilson of Big Spring; eight grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son: Tommy Statham; two grandsons: Jackie Steadham and Michael Steadham; three sisters: Flora Atkinson, Malone Kropp and Lolita Long; and one brother: J. C. Statham.
