OGDEN - Raymond Leslie Adams, 82, died Thursday, March 11, 2004 peacefully at home.

Raymond was born November 28, 1921 in Provo Bench, Utah son of James Leslie Adams and Florence Ethel Wilde Adams.

Raymond went to Lincoln High School, Orem, Utah. He was a veteran serving his country in the US Navy during WW II.

He married Marijane Ebey on March 20, 1943 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 20, 1947. Marijane died on May 21, 1995. Raymond married Irene Bates on December 2, 1995 in the Ogden Temple.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He served as a member of the Clearfield Fourth Ward Bishopric, Ward Clerk and as Scout Master. He was a member of the Pleasant View Second Ward.

He served an LDS mission with his wife, Marijane to the Washington Seattle Mission. Also, was an Ogden Temple Ordinance Worker for twenty years.

Raymond worked at Hill Air Force Base for thirty plus years.

He served on the Clearfield City Council and Planning Commission He was the past President of Clearfield Irrigation. He was member and a past President of the Clearfield Kiwanis Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Voice of Democracy Chair.

Raymonds hobbies were gardening, fishing, helping others and doing community service. He is survived by his loving wife, one son, Raymond James (Mickey) Adams, West Point, UT; three daughters, Leslie 'Cookie' Barker, Layton, UT; Laurie (Ken) Byington, Roy, UT; and Holly (Jim) Allison, Layton, UT; and 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are six step-children, Judith (Leroy) Yorgason, Oloha, OR, Auburn (Pam) Bates, West Point, UT, Norman Bates, Layton, UT, Wendell (Lynn) Bates, Phoenix, AZ, Linda (Rick) Brenchley, Ogden, UT, Sherrie Lowe Roy, UT; 29 step-grandchildren and 46 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Adams and Michael Adams; six sisters, Ellen Franson, Arlene Dart, Nadene Jacobsen, Bertien Toenjes, Shirley Ungerman and Gwen Adams.

Ray was preceded in death by wife, Marijane Ebey Adams, sister, Betty Eastman, his parents, son-in-law, Gary OBarker, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Second Ward Chapel, 250 West Elberta Drive with Bishop Mark Cowley officiating.

Friends may call at Lindquists North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Clearfield Cemetery.
