JOY S. BUTLER
Joy S Butler, 75, of 1106 Blaine Ave., died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in Mercy Medical Center.
He was born May 21, 1895, in Springfield, the son of Richard Butler and Anna Swonger Butler and had resided here all of his life. He was a retired employee of the Schaefer Bakery Co., having worked there for 45 years. Mr. Butler attended the First Baptist Church, was a member of St. Andrews Lodge No. 619 F .and A.M., was a veteran of WWI and was a member of the Rainbow Division.
Survivors include his wife, Mae, two daughters, Mrs. Jane Holderby of Springfield, Mrs. Shirley Ball of Londan; five sons, Jack of Columbus, Fred L. of Los Angeles, Calif., Bill of Minneapolis, Minn., Jay and Ronald, both of Springfield; 17 grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Lucille Seabert of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Anna Caplinger of Columbus; Mrs. Hazel Hoeker and Mrs. Olive Fyffe, both of Springfield.
His body was taken to the Richards Memorial Home.
