Of Nekoosa, formerly of Milwaukee, died Thursday, December 3, 1998, age 71 years. Beloved husband and friend of Joan (nee Gostomski). Loving father of Laurie Schmeling, Steven (Vicki) and Chris (Larry) Doman. Fond grandpa of Jason, Melissa and Brittany Radiff, Joey and Evan Schmeling. Special nephew of Noretta Ernst. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gregory Von Roenn, Dr. Robert Haushalter and Dr. William Timm and the nursing staffs of St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee and Adams County Memorial Hospital in Adams, WI.

Retiree of Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and lifetime member of the Milwaukee Dog Training club and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 6, 1998 at 4 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the chimes. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Sunday from 1:30-4 PM. Memorials are appreciated to American Diabetes Association.
