Chelsea Kay Kanatus, 19, of Stephens City, died Monday, March 2, 2009 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. She had contracted bacterial meningitis.
She was born November 23, 1989 in Winchester, the daughter of Todd D. and Sheila Hedrick Kanatus.
Chelsea was a 2008 graduate of Sherando High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and past secretary of DECA. She had attended Shepherd University and recently transferred to the University of West Virginia.
She had worked at Petsmart in Winchester.
Surviving are her parents, Sheila R. and Chris Pack of Stephens City and Todd D. Kanatus of Huntington, WV; two brothers, Ryan M. Kanatus and Tanner D. Pack both of Stephens City; and her grandparents, Carol VanMeter and Bill Hedrick both of Cumberland, MD, Sue Racer of Winchester, John Kanatus of Strasburg, Gabi Pack of Winchester and David Pack of Luray, VA.
