Industrialist. Born in Paris France, he was an engineer builder best known for his classic Citroën automobiles. In 1915, he built his car factory on the banks of the Seine River where it operated there until it closed in the 1970s. During World War I, his factory was responsible for mass production of armaments. After the war, his automobile company went on to become the fourth-largest automobile manufacturer in the world by the early 1930s. He died of cancer at age 57 in Paris, France.
