JOSEPH JAMES FERRO Entered peacefully into rest in San Lorenzo on March 21, 2006. 95 years old. Born in Alameda on October 30, 1910, Joseph had retired from Bank of America after 45 years of service. Devoted to his family and friends, Joe found great pleasure in spending time with his loved ones. He enjoyed family gatherings and was proud of his grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. When not working hard, he took great pride in his home. He loved the outdoors, and spent considerable time in his garden. He had a green thumb and his yard showed off his many hours of careful trimming and plantings. He will truly be missed. Joseph is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 68 years, Elvira M. Ferro of San Lorenzo. He will be truly missed by his beloved daughters, Gloria A. Simon of Menlo Park and Joanne Ferro of Tiburon. He will be remembered by his grandchildren, Angela Simon, Robert Simon, Elisa Reubens, Sarah Wetmore and also his 6 great grandchildren. Visitation for Joseph will be on Monday from 4 to 8 pm at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. A vigil service will be held on Monday at 7 pm at the chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at St. John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
