Saco- Avis Bessie Bradstreet, age 93, formerly of the Ocean Park Road, died on May 3, 2006 at the Pine Point Nursing Care Center in Scarborough. Avis was born on Aug. 3, 1912 in Palermo Maine, a daughter of Merton G. and Carrie (Linscott) Norton.

For many years, Mrs. Bradstreet worked as a nurse in several hospitals and doctor's offices until 1962. She then worked on a farm with her husband until 1976. Afterward, she retired in Saco. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Grange, and the United Baptist Church in Saco.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick Bradstreet; and a son, Merton Nickerson.

Avis is survived by a son, Winston Nickerson of Gardner Maine; 6 grandchildren- Cameron, Sean, Kimberly, Scott and his wife Linda, Keith, and Steven and his wife Debbie; 5 great grandchildren- Sarah, Elexa, Meghan, Lucas, and Logan.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 13, at 1 PM at Smith Cemetery in Palermo Maine.
