Arthur met and married Rae Kohler in 1897. Records found in Creston, Iowa. They lived together for only a short time. Had one child, Harry L. Shill. Arthur and Rae divorced and went their separate ways. Harry was raised by his Grandmother, Elnora ROPP Shill's sister, Lillian and her husband George Goodman. Arthur traveled alot and was often reunited with family members. Rumor has it he was with the circus. In the mid 30's he visited with a grandnephew Forest Moore in Iowa and as Forest put it, " A good story teller". While living in Detroit, MI, he met and married Geneva Ruth GOULD Meldrum in 1938. The were divorced in 1941. He hunted down his son in the 30's and finally found him. On May 11, 1938 they were finally reunited after 40 years. He lived his later years in Michigan. Visited Chicago often. Rae was living in a rehab home where the photo was taken in 1949. He went back to Michigan where he died in 1953. The name Ruth Shill shows up on his death certificate. The certificate does show divorced.
