He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Virginia; loving father of Michele (Ben) Robins, John (Lorraine) Linn, Suzanne Rodriguez and Mark (Elizabeth) Linn; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Melissa, Angela, Carleen, Josh, Eric, Sherri, Matthew, Adam, Stephanie, Denis, Michael and Jonathan; fond great grandfather of 11; son-in-law, Darryl Powell; and faithful companions: Willie and Wilma; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Powell; and sister: Audrey Velo.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 2:00-7:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe), Munster, IN. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
Interment at Oakland Memory Lane Cemetery, Dolton, IL. John was a resident of Lansing for over 50 years. He was a member of the Hammond Moose Lodge 570 and retired from TPC Food Service. www.kishfuneralhome.net
