Ilse Weiler was born to Jean and Maria "Mia" (Mueller) Weiler on June 17, 1925 in Niedermendig, Kreis Mayen (bei Koblenz), Germany. She was married at Maria Laach, a Beneditine Abbey near Mendig, on July 3, 1956 to Andre' Watrelot who was an officer in the French army. Ilse traveled with Andre', living in various parts of France, Germany, and even Algeria for a while. When Andre' retired, the two settled in Marly, France. Several times a year, they would return to Niedermendig, where Ilse had her parents' house yet. They had no children. Ilse did have two cousins on her father's side though - Rosa Maria (Aust) Losee of Schenectady, NY, and Elfriede (Weiler) Gemein of Mendig. Ilse died unexpectedly of a heart attack on the evening of July 7, 2003 in Marly, France. She's buried in the cemetery in Marly.
