John died in a traffic accident on US 50 near Bedford. He was born to James and Luella Clampitt, both survive.
Also surviving are five sons, Andy, Philip, Jared, Jonathan and Joel all of Bedford, also three brothers, Jim of Columbia, Missouri, Jerry of Bedford and Jody of Heltonville, a sister, Jane Fansler of Heltonville.
He was employed by Orscheln Farm Supply. He was a 1970 graduate of Tunnelton High School.
Services will be at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with burial in Gilgal cemetery
