She is survived by her loving family; daughter Melanie, son-in-law Scott Lindberg, "pride-in-joy" grandchildren, Duncan (17), and Mariah (14) of Felton, CA, and by her dear daughter, Jeannette Broadwater, Cherry Hill, NJ.
Phyllis enjoyed life to the very fullest. She was a 1939 graduate of the Marlborough School for Girls, a member of Alpha Chi Omega at USC, and in 1944 married the successful Southern gentleman, David F. Alcorn. Together they enjoyed travel and ocean bounties, a fun family life, and volunteer work in Long Beach, Downey, and Palos Verdes. She was a devoted wife of 36 years, an artist, and a very caring mother. A widow at age 60, she pursued a 28 year Real Estate career in Orange County until retirement at 85.
Memorial Services will be held at Forest Lawn in Glendale, CA on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 12:30 p.m.
