Wife: Jane A. Cycon, she died on Aug. 3, 1994. They were married Sept. 9, 1945.
He retired from the former Ellwood Works of U.S. Steel, where he worked as a millwright. He was an active member of Holy Redeemer Church and a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in New Castle. He was a choir member in both churches. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in Europe in World War II with Co. B, 160th Engineers Combat Battalion. He was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW and the Polish White Eagles in Chewton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening, being noted for his fruits, roses and other flowers.
Survived by a son, Timothy A. Bober of Vienna, Va.; and a brother, Robert Bober of Ellwood City. He was preceded in death by his wife; three sisters, Mary Ann Kuczynski, Helen Teresa Kalifut and Margaret Miloser; and seven brothers, John and Anthony in infancy, and Albert, Joseph, John, Paul and Frank Bober.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Full military rites will be performed by the Veterans Honor Guard.The family suggests contributions can be made in Mr. Bober's name to Holy Redeemer Church or St. Joseph the Worker Church.
