Irene Nicholson Rudisell lived all her life on the site where she was born, the home of her parents on Haywood Road, Asheville, NC. The original home burned down on a Sunday morning while the family was at Church.
She was a school teacher for the county schools, retiring from Enka High School. Her specialty was mathematics, geometry, calculus and trigonometry. She never had any children but was loved by the many children and youth she taught.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist, formerly known as West Asheville Methodist Church. She remembers when the former church was torn down in 1926 to make way for a larger facility.
She lived Psalm 91, "With long life will I show Him thy salvation."
