Canton, IL - David E. White, 88, of 30 Winegar Drive passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, in the emergency room at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born on May 27, 1920 in Prairie City, Illinois to Albert and Grace (Welsh) White, David married Shirley M. Kaiser on June 9, 1946 in Canton.

She survives along with three children; Debbie (Larry) Miller, Donna (George) Cardot and David E. (Susan) White; four grandchildren, Justin (Susan) Miller, Janel Jett, Ashley Cardot and David A. White; and five great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one grandson, Evan, and three sisters.

David was a welder at International Harvester Co. in Canton, retiring in 1982 with 25 years service.

He enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Canton, a 46 year member of the Elks Lodge and was active in the Elks Crippled Children's Clinic.

He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
