Nanticoke Man Dead
George W. Simpson, an old and prominent resident of Nanticoke, died at his home on Main St., that place, this morning at 4:20 o'clock. He caught a slight cold several weeks ago which later developed into pneumonia and his death soon followed.
He was one of Nanticoke's most representative citizens and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He was a veteran of the Civil War and won distinction in battle. He was 82 years old and resided in Nanticoke for over 30 years.
He is survived by eight children: George and John at home, Mrs. Jacob Roberts, Sr., Wilkes-Barre; W.P. Simpson, Scranton; Harry Simpson, Nanticoke; W.W. Davenport, Scranton; Mrs. J. Willard Good, Wilkes-Barre.
The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from his late home. Rev. Dr. Coxe of Alden, will officiate. Interment will be made in Hanover Cemetery.
