She was born June 6, 1905 at Momence. She was the daughter of Frank and Mae Henry Ward. In 1926 she married August Henning and they had made their home in Elgin ever since.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Elgin and was active in the Golden Rule class of the church. She was an election judge for more than 20 years.
Surviving are the widower, August; two sons, Ronald of Tempe, Ariz. and Jerry of Elgin; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Deem of Billings, Mont., Mrs. John (Joyce) Kappen of Elgin, Mrs. George (Janet) Dunning of Elgin; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers, Ervin Ward of Salem, Ore.; Warren Ward of Clute, Tex., Robert Ward of Elgin; four sisters, Mrs. Albert (Louise) Tolley of Elgin, Mrs. Galen (Helen) Becker of Villa Park, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Burren of Elgin, Mrs. Stu (Alice) Gilles of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Henry.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Stout Funeral Home, Elgin, with the Rev. Lynn Longenbaugh, pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday after 1 p.m. and on Friday until time of service.
