Julie Weflen was a lovely young woman, abducted & murdered while working alone at the Spring Hill substation near the intersection of Four Mound Rd. and Coulee Hite Rd. She was a substation operator for the Bonneville Power Administration. She was very happily married to her loving husband of just 4+ years, Mike Weflen. They had a home in Deer Park, WA, where they had 2 horses, Sonn and Tony.

Mike launched an exhaustive "campaign" to find her, and bring justice, but this cold case remains unsolved to this day. Her story is found in the Ann Rule book, Kiss Me, Kill Me. If anyone has any additional bio info or photos to add, please contact me. A former BPA co-worker, John Polos, has felt strongly compelled, in the last couple of years,to generate new leads that could bring some answers and closure for Julie and her loved ones. Based on articles read over the years, it is generally believed that Julie was abducted by someone local to the area.

Additional bio info was sent to me by a former classmate of Julie's--- He stated that Julie grew up in the Portland, OR area, the daughter of Robert E. & Bette Miner.
She went to Beaumont Grade School and Grant High School, graduating in 1977. Julie has an older sibling named Robin, born in 1954. She moved to Spokane in 1982, and married Mike on June 25, 1983 in South Dakota. Mike and Julie had met at a jazz concert in Oregon in 1980. Julie was also an active member of the Spokane area Mountaineering club. The investigation into her cold case has recently been active again.
