A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Mountain View Cemetery, Ridgeway, Va.
He was born in Rockingham County, to the late William Dennis Anderson and Gertrude Burchell Anderson. George was formerly employed with Fieldcrest- Cannon, Inc. and had served as a volunteer EMT for Ridgeway Rescue Squad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Mickey Anderson and a sister, Patsy Dillon.
Survivors include daughters, Amanda A. Turner (Andy), of Ridgeway, Va., Linda A. Weadon of Eden; their mother, Mary Sue Robertson, and Miranda A. Meadows of Bassett, Va.; and her mother, Cathy B. Shively; brother, Billy Anderson (Carolyn), of Eden; sisters, Sharon Nelson, of Eden, and Joan Bridgeman (Jack), of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Andy Turner, Jr., Ashley Weadon, Matt Hickman, and Savanna Meadows; and two great-grandchildren.
