Mrs. Roxie Merrick, a resident of Antioch for 22 years, died yesterday at Driftwood Convalescent Hospital, Antioch. She was 89.

A native of Government Mountain, Ore., Mrs. Merrick was a daughter of Stephen H. and Emma J. Woods Weathermon, and came to California in 1943 with her husband, Luther Merrick, who she married in 1924. Previously, she had been married to Ennis Morrison.

She and her husband settled in Sacramento where she worked at Sutter General Hospital for several years before moving to Antioch.

Survivors include two sons, Harvey Morrison of Walla Walla, Wash., Kenneth Morrison of Lomas, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Fern Burchard of Sacramento, Mrs. Naoma Bussell of Walla Walla, Mrs. Lavonne Van Cleave of Ashland, Ore., Mrs. Donna Sanderson of Antioch; one brother, Charlie Weatherman of Walla Walla; 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
