Harold Beins
Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 11, 1989 at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Harold Beins

Harold Beins, the son of William and Irene (Wind) Beins, was born northwest of Aurora, Nebraska, on December 10, 1906, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 8, 1989, at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 28 days.

He grew up near Aurora, and graduated from Aurora High School, and then took a short course at Agricultural College.

On February 5, 1931, he was united in marriage to Amy Lockhart, at Aurora. After their marriage they farmed for one year northwest of Aurora, and in 1932 they moved to a farm southwest of Phillips. In 1969, they retired and moved into their present home in Aurora.

Harold had served on an Ag Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C.; and had won a Pasture forage livestock award, a soil conservation award for being a livestock feeder for 50 years; had served on the Hamilton County Extension Board, and had been a 4-H leader. He was an organizer for the Plainsman Museum Century Club; and did the restoration of the Lincoln Valley Cemetery.

Harold was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church, and served many positions. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Phillips.

Harold's hobbies included woodworking, farming interests, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Kathryn Beins; brothers, Chester, Don, Rae, and an infant brother, Clarence; one sister Hazel Giggey and one grandson, Ricky Anderson.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Amy of Aurora; 2 daughters, Beverly Beckenbach and her husband Len, of Lincoln, Bertina Anderson and her husband Jerry of Aurora; 3 sisters, Cora Jeffers of York, Helen Nordland of Indio, California and Ethel Maree Shaneyfelt of Aurora; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends.
