William H. Hilton died last night at 9:30 at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Homer Closson, 812 High street, aged eighty-four years, death being due to paralysis. Some time ago Mr. Hilton was attacked with a falling spell and ath the time it was thought but a temporary derangement of the stomach which had caused dizziness, but it was later realized that it was a tinge of apoplexy. His condition had not been good since that time, but he had been able to be around the premises and only within the past few days had he been unable to walk down to the city. Early this week deceased had a recurrence of the of the attack and his right side became paralyzed. His decline was rapid and death came to put its seal upon a busy and well spent life. Mr. Hilton was for many years a clerk in the Panhandle shops and was on the retired list. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Homer Closson and Miss Mary Hilton of this city; and three sons, Merritt Hilton of San Bernardino, Cal., George and Alfred Hilton of this city. Deceased was a member and past master or Orient lodge, No. 272, F. & A.M. and of Fidelity chapter, No. 58, Order Easter Star.
The funeral of William H. Hilton will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Homer Closson, 812 High street, conducted by Rev. E. LeRoy Dakin of the Baptist church. The funeral ceremonies will be in charge of Orient lodge, No. 272, F. & A. M. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope cemetery.
