Final rites for Virgil Knight, 67,
of Logansport, and former
resident of Washington Township,
Carroll County, were
Tuesday a t Logansport. Burial
was in Mt. Hope Cemetery there.
He was pronounced dead
Friday at White County
Memorial Hospital after being
stricken while visiting his
daughter, Mrs. Oveta Dilts of Rt.
1 Burnettsville.
Born Aug. 24, 1906, in Carroll
County, he was the son of Jesse
and Ann Frances Stephen
Knight. His marriage on Jan. 19,
1929, was to Mary Strong in Deer
Creek.
Surviving with the wife is a son,
Clifford, of Logansport, two
daughters, Mrs. Melba Sitter of
Rt. 5 Logansport and Mrs. Dilts;
two brothers, Taylor of Rt. 3
Logansport and Cecil of Buhl,
Idaho, two sisters, Mrs. Ruby
Cramer of Logansport and Mrs.
Jessie Basil of Hemet, Calif.;
eight grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
He was a retired General Tire
employee and had been manager
of a Logansport button factory
until it closed in 1943. He was a
member of the Metea Baptist
Church.
