George Samuel Fryrear was the youngest of seven children born to Burr Harrison and Fidelia Sorrell Fryrear. He and his wife Sarah Emma Clements had four children - Samuel Theodore, Anna Evelyn, Flossie Edith and George Samuel Jr.
Sam owned an estate in the Cedar Creek area which consisted of a gristmill, blacksmith shop, sawmill,and grocery store. He was also a farmer, raising livestock and planting acres of corn and sorgum. He said he would never marry until his mother died and so at age 50 he married and in six years fathered his children. He was a very much respected community member.
