'Pop' Carr Sr.

A graveside service with military honors for Bernard R. "Pop" Carr Sr., 62, of Stafford County will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald J. Arflin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight and Thursday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.

Mr. Carr died Tuesday, April 5, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born at Moormans River in Albemarle County, he had retired as the owner of B&M Auto Repair in Stafford.

He had also retired as a master sergeant in the Army after 22 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary S. Carr; two sons, Bernard Carr Jr. of Sumter, S.C. and Michael James Carr of Stafford; a daughter, Tina C. Schimpf of Stafford; a sister, Shirley Fenton of Arvada, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, c/o Barbara Williams, Signet Bank, Box 149, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
