Mrs. H. A. Martin Dies At 88 Years
.....Rites Today At Friendship Church
.....Mrs. Margaret Lee Martin, 88, wife of Harve A. Martin, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home 3 miles southeast of California.
.....She was born March 3, 1868 a daughter of Daniel and Margaret Crawford, in the house where she died. Mr. and Mrs. Martin were married there on March 3, 1889 and celebrated their golden wedding in the house in March 1939. The farm was entered by Mrs. Martin's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Crawford who came from Virginia 112 years ago. The house was built in 1852 of hand hewn logs.
.....Mrs. Martin was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
.....In addition to her husband, other survivors are a son, Jesse Martin, a daughter Mrs. A. F. Peters both living within a few miles of their parents home, 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Two sons, John A. and Henry L., a brother Ed Crawford and a sister Mrs. Susan Bilyeu preceded her in death.
.....Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Friendship Church, the Rev. James Deuel officiating. Funeral music will be provided by singers from the Church.
.....Burial will be in the City Cemetery under the direction of the Bowlin Funeral Home.
