Earnie Lee Thomas was born on January 20, 1935 in Newellton, Louisiana, to Maggie Matthews Thomas and John Henry Thomas.

Earnie, confessed Christ at an early age and accepted him as her personal savior. She was united in marriage to Charlie Banks, Sr., to this union nine children were born.

The Banks and Thomas families joined the Holy Rock Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jackson Douglas, then later joined the Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late A. B. Carr, where she was a faitful member until her death, under Rev. Charlie Banks, Jr.

Earnie was an RN, at University Medical Center.

Earnie is preceeded in death by her parents Maggie Matthews Thomas and John Henry Thomas, and a daughter Clara Ann Banks Hilliard.

Earnie is survied by her husband Rev. Charlie Banks, Sr., daughters, Delores Watson, Rosella Gore, Gwendolyn Bailey; sons, Curtis, Nathanial, Jeffery, Rev. Charlie Banks, Jr., all of Las Vegas, NV,and Michael Banks of San Diego, CA; sisters Viola Jackson and Carrie Veley; brother Frank Harris; Aunt Cora Brown; four son-in-laws. four daughter-in-laws, 25 grandchildren, 2 great-grant children and a host of nieces, nephews, realatives and many friends
