Nesbie Alene Wood was the daughter of Clarence Robertson & Martha Emma Haynes Wood. She married Julius Leabert Carpenter about 1936 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL.

One child: Jackie Wayne about 1937

1940 Talladega Co., AL Census, Sylacauga Pct 11
Carpenter, Julius, Head, 27, AL; Nesby A., Wife, 25, AL; Jackie Wayne, Son, 3, AL; Christine, Sister in law, 18, AL

I did not know my Uncle Julius and Aunt Nesby very well. They left Sylacauga, moved to Charlotte, NC. We did visit them in Charlotte once. We rode on a train to get there.

My Uncle Julius and Aunt Nesby managed an small apartment complex and we stayed in one of the rooms for a couple of nights.

In later years, they would leave Charlotte and moved to Houston, TX where their son and his wife lived. They lived the remainder of their lives there.
