Ellen J. Hilbert Rites Set Monday
Services for Mrs. Ellen J Hilbert, 741 E. Kiowa St., will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Swan Funeral Home. Leslie O. Sylvester will be the reader. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Frank Marshall, Bret Harrington, Floyd Breedlove, J. Frank Alexander, William Allen and William Wirt serving as pallbearers. Mrs Hilbert died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 2, 1882 in Buckingham, Iowa, and previously lived in Denver, California and South Dakota before coming here in 1946. She belonged to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Colorado Springs, and also the Mother Church in Boston, MA, and was a member of the Gold Star Mother and Navy Mothers.
She is survived by four sons, Albert T Hilbert and Tommy C. Hilbert of Colorado Springs, H. Donald Hilbert of Seatlle, WA, and Arthur P Hilbert of Denver: four daughters, Mrs Anna Mizner, Bettenforf (sic), Iowa, Mrs Gladys Blaser, Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. E. Fern Wier, Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs Jeanne Barzan, Minnetonka, MN: a sister, Mrs Esther Holmes, Tucson, AZ: 25 grandchildren: 28 great-grandchildren: 10 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
