Funeral services for Wilburn F. Hayes, 76, of Decatur will be today at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hayes died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 18, 1923, in Lawrence County to William Elbert Hayes and Myrtle Allred Hayes. A member of Austinville United Methodist Church, he was a retired supervisor at Wolverine Tube, where he was employed for 38 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was the widower of Irene Allen Hayes and the brother of the late Merle Hayes Fulmer.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Hayes and Tim Hayes, both of Decatur; two daughters, Debbie Hayes Griffin of Montgomery and Michele Hayes Cook of Decatur; two brothers, Jim Hayes and Ray Hayes, both of Decatur; two sisters, Mamie Lentz of Moulton and Roselle Livingston of Priceville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Members of the Decatur Model Airplane Club and the Good Fellowship Sunday school class of Austinville United Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
