Mary Julia was born April 28, 1878/79, in Troup, Texas. She was the daughter of David S. and Eliza Ann "Annie" (Vickers) Wiesen Smith. She married William B. "Bill" Bryant May 25th, 1903, in Navarro County. The former Cryer Creek and Barry resident died at the Hilliard-Bryan Home at 308 W. 7th Ave. in Corsicana, TX. The funeral was held at Corley Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Billy Nichols, Baptist minister. Burial service followed at Cryer Creek Cemetery where she was buried next to her husband. Surviving her are 3 sons: Roy Lee Bryant of Hurst, Jack and Bill Bryant both of Barry, and 3 daughters, Elizabeth Barum of Blooming Grove, Estelle Coker of Barry and Mary McAda of Campbellton. Also, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 6 half-brothers: Carl, Franc M, Dawsey, August M, Charlie and William D. Wiesen.
