Carol Mapes Hauser dies after illness at age 22 Carol Mapes (Mrs. Alan Richard) Hauser, 22, a bride of less than three months, died here yesterday of an incurable illness known to her and her bridegroom for some time before their wedding. After their marriage last June 20, the young couple had a Hawaiian Island honeymoon. After returning to Redlands, they lived at 16 North San Mateo Street. Mrs. Hauser, a resident of Redlands for 10 years, was born in Michigan. Both she and her husband graduated in 1961 from Redlands High school and this June from the University of Redlands where she was affiliated with Alpha Sigma Pi sorority. She also studied at California Western University in her freshman and sophomore years. In addition to her husband, she leaves her mother, Mrs. John Mapes of Redlands; two brothers, John and Mark Mapes, and three sisters, Julianne. Nancy and Lucinda Mapes, all of Redlands. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Mortuary chapel with Rev. Harry G. Suttner, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating.
