PAULINE B. SHELTON, died March 16, 2009 at the Forrest Cove Nursing Home, Jackson, TN after a long illness. She was born in Sharon, TN to the late Arrie and Gladys Blasingame of Eaton, TN. Mrs. Shelton was a former resident of Memphis, TN, where she was a licensed practical nurse for 42 years, working at the Baptist Hospital, Campbell�s Clinic and Rosewood Nursing Home. In 1992, Mrs. Shelton received an award from the Tennessee Department of Labor, honoring her as the longest practicing nurse in the State of Tennessee. She was a member of Leawood Baptist Church on Macon Rd. in Memphis, prior to her move to Jackson, TN. She attended Mercer Baptist Church of Mercer, TN, with her family. Mrs. Shelton loved attending the Berclair Civic Center and the Moose Lodge with her many friends. Her husband, William Clarence Shelton; a daughter, Charlotte Ann Shelton Charter of Jacksonville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Marc and Lisa Charter, preceded Mrs. Shelton in death. Also preceding her in death was a brother, James Blasingame of Chicago and three sisters, Virginia Milan, Mildred Shelton and Nancy Tuttle, all of Memphis, a son-in-law, Harry Charter of Jacksonville, Arkansas; a special brother-in-law, Thomas Bass of Trenton, TN. Survivors are two daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy and Dovey Stafford of Mercer, TN and Linda and Tom Craven of Crossville, TN. Mrs. Shelton is also survived by one brother, Jack Blasingame of Eaton, TN; two sisters, Jean Bass of Trenton, TN and Mary Kathryn Tillman of Alamo, TN. She had 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shelton lived life to the fullest, wearing many hats. She was a devoted daughter, faithful wife, loving Mother, proud sister, caring friend and skilled nurse. She lived, she laughed and she loved. A Celebration of her life will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Memphis, TN on March 18, 2009 at 10 a.m. Visitation will preceded the service starting at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens, but no graveside services are planned.
