Uncle Robert Lee was a friend to all and an avid hunter. He died while deer hunting in Bienville Parish. He married Billie Fern COOLEY on 17 Dec 1956 in DeQuincy LA, and they had two children: Michael Lee and Robin Leigh MCBROOM. He served in the US Air Force from 1957-1961 and retired in 1993 as a Shift Foreman at Conoco Oil.

Westlake -- Funeral services for Robert Lee McBroom, 57, will be at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 24, in First Baptist Church of Westlake. The Rev. Tim Guthrie, Oliver McGuire and Finers Cryer will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Gardens under direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is from 9 a.m. in the church.
Mr. McBroom died Saturday, Nov. 18, 1995, in Bienville Parish.
A native of Clarke (sic, Clarks), he was an Air Force veteran. He had lived in Westlake for 38 years and retired as dock supervisor after 32 years with Conoco. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westlake.
Survivors are his wife, Billie Cooley McBroom; one son, Michael McBroom; one daughter, Robin Boudreaux, both of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Ralph McBroom of Mississippi and Kenny McBroom of Shreveport; and four grandchildren.
