Edward E. Abel, 53 years old, died at 12:30 o'clock Thursday night at St. Joseph's hospital of complication of diseases after an illness of one week. He was born Sept 1, 1867, in Manor township. His parents were the late Frank and Theresa Eshbach Abel. Mr. Abel has been a resident of Lancaster for 5 years. For two years he was fireman at Lorillard Co. He was a member of Boehms M.E. church. His wife, who was Miss Mary Kling of Willow Street survives, and these sons and daughters: Philip F., at home; Theresa A., wife of Charles R. Simmons, city; Ida E., wife of Harry Constein, city; John E., at home, and Arthur K., in the U.S. army, now at Camp Meade. Two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Frank Abel, Honeybrook; Michael of Clearfield; Palmer of West Chester; Abram of New Danville; Landis of this city; Mabel, wife of Charles Lynch, and Fannie, wife of Ambrose Baker, both of this city.
