According to the Louisiana Deaths 1819-1964, Lewis died November 28, 1936 in Coushatta, Red River Parish, Louisiana. According to Ancestry Lewis and Willie were married March 25, 1918 in Taylor County, Texas, divorced November 1928 in Taylor County, Texas.

Services for Mrs. Jake Rountree were held in Elliott's Chapel of Memories. Born in Kaufman County, Texas, she came to Tuscola with her parents in 1906. She married Louis C. Simpson in Ovalo, Texas in 1917. In 1928, she married Jake Rountree in Abilene. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons; one sister-in-law; eight grandchildren.
