Jesse Gloyd, age 94, of Valparaiso, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2009. He was born in Colfax, IL on February 7, 1915 to John and Jessie Gloyd and was a WWII US Army veteran. Jesse was a retired Gas Crew Supervisor for Nipsco and a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Crown Point. He enjoyed raising Quarter horses, farming, gardening and watching his grandchildren, Matt and Juliana, perform. Jesse was preceded in death by Jane, his beloved wife of 42 years; and son, Dennis. He is survived by children: Jessica (Michael) Gloyd of Valparaiso, Sandi Gloyd of FL, John Sanchez of FL, Toni Sanchez of Valparaiso and beloved grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart. Pastor Ron Peterson officiating. Burial at McCool Cemetery in Portage.
