James Trout, Businessman
James "Jim" W. Trout, 81, a retired service station owner, died Monday at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong Lancaster County resident, he lived a 5 Eastman Ave.
He owned and operated automobile service stations and garages affiliated with the Gulf and Atlantic companies for 40 years. He retired in 1971.
He was the husband of Fern I. Morris Farmer Trout. Born in Bart Township, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Lizzie Huber Trout.
He belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 299, Lancaster, and the Benevolent Order of Elks, Lodge 1074, Columbia.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Raymond L., Lititz; a daughter, Pauline, wife of Lynn Ober, East Petersburg; two step-sons, William R. Farmer, Virginia Beach, Va., and Robert O. Farmer, Washington Boro; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; a brother, David, Quarryville, and three sisters, Esther, wife of Maurice Graham, Strasburg, Emma Wolff, Millville, and Naomi Graham, Georgetown.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Gundel Funeral Home, 415 N. Duke St., Lancaster, Pa., on Wednesday at 2 PM with the Rev. Lee Edwin Walker officiating. Interment in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gundel Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 2 PM.
