~ Nita was the first-born child of Barney & Ida Moore. She helped her parents scratch out a living by farming the earth. She once said that her Dad required her to pick cotton as a five year old child, stuffing it into a burlap sack that she couldn't move around the field on her own. Reflecting on her first words, Barney said that it was on a full moon night while riding in a horse-drawn wagon in the South Carolina low country. He said she pointed at the moon and proclaimed "Boon Daddy, boon!" She stayed with her family and farm through her youth until she was a young woman, then married Lee McEntyre and had 4 children; Leonard, Furman, Joyce, and Larry. After McEntyre died, she married Lee Wood. After Wood died, she made her living in textiles, and worked some of those years with her brother Henry in the mill that he and father Barney founded in 1962, which is still in operation. She was also known to her family as "Bibb". Many of us spent seemingly endless hours with Aunt Bibb at the river, fishing for just about anything we could catch. We all loved her and being with her. She loved Jesus, family and friends. For the last few years of her life, she steadily kept losing her vision until she could only see slightly, but she never lost her faith in God. Her desire was to be in His Kingdom, where she now resides! She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her family will miss her dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that she is at home with God and waiting to be reunited with us again! At the time of her passing, Bibb had 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. Two of her children, Leonard and Joyce preceded her in death. She was 91 years old. ~Husband: Leonard Lee McEntyre (1911 - 1988)
