Nora Allen, 77, a longtime resident of Arlington, peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009, surrounded by her loved ones.
Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home.
Nora, known as "Crazy Granny" by some grandkids and "Ma" by others, will be fondly remembered for her spunkiness and feistiness that so characterized her and her fun spirit. In her 70s, she wasn't afraid to still show us how she could get up and dance - to any kind of music. Besides dancing, she loved shopping, eating crab legs, and sharing her keen sense of humor.
She was one independent lady who didn't accept much help from others. She, instead, was always thinking of ways to put others before herself.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert "Al" Allen; her daughter, Debbie Walton; and a grandson, Russell Albert Allen.
We know you'll still be the "life of the party" in heaven and if there's shopping, we know you'll find it!
We are grateful for your family legacy, and we will miss you tremendously.
Survivors: Husband, Charles Hutcheson; son, Dennis Allen and his wife, Linda; son, Daniel Allen Sr.; grandchildren and their families, Jamie Farber, Michael Walton, Jason Walton, Richard Allen, Lisa Knowles, Bill Allen, Robert Allen and Daniel "DJ" Allen Jr.; several great-grandkids; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
