Bert was the son of Alexander A. 'Elick' Lawson and Elizabeth Bates he was the 7th child born to them. Bert grew up in Ellis County. I remember visiting him and his wife Ruby in Kansas when I was growing up.
PVT. Bert Lawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Lawson, of Midlothian, Texas. Entered the service September 5, 1918. Attached to 5th Company, 2nd Battalion, 165th Depot Brigade. Stationed at Camp Travis until after the signing of the armistice, when discharge was granted.
