Maura E. Curtin, 22, of Worcester, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in California.

She leaves her parents, Bert and Nancy (Beard) Curtin; four sisters: Jennifer Hunt, Jane Dowd and her husband William, Meg Curtin and her fiancé Dan Brunelle, and Kaitlyn Curtin, all of Worcester; several aunts; uncles and cousins; five nieces; three nephews; her godmother, Jane Lavallee; her godfather, Joseph Foley; and her great-aunt, Mary Cahill.

Maura was born in Worcester. She attended Burncoat High School and Cape Cod Community College.

Maura worked at the Shiraz restaurant in Worcester before taking a position in sales on the West Coast.

Maura enjoyed music, photography, princess dresses, sheltering animals in need, family and friends. She had a free spirit with the desire to explore the world in a fun-filled way.

Calling hours are Friday, March 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Saturday, March 21, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maura Curtin Memorial Fund, in care of Commerce Bank, 386 Main St., Worcester 01608.
