Alma Rhea Matherly Rupard, 89, of 7824 Ironworks Rd., widow of Shelby Lewis Rupard, died Sunday morning at her home. A native of Clark County, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur Matherly and Emma Mae Guy Wills. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Russ McMillan of Madison, Wisconsin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sue Rupard and Harold David and Mary Virginia Rupard, all of Clark County; three grandsons and their wives, Robert Glenn and Leanne Rupard of Greenwood, Indiana, Stephen and Katie McMillan of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Anthony and Natalie Rupard of Georgetown, Kentucky; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kim and David Walters and Ashley and Matt Cooper, all of Montgomery County; a step-grandson, William Vaughn and a step-granddaughter and her husband, Jan Vaughn and Garet Horn, all of Clark County; five great grandsons, Quintin Rupard and Taylor Rupard of Greenwood, Indiana, Evan McMillan and Brett McMillan of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Mason Walters of Montgomery County; two great granddaughters, Madison Oaks of Montgomery County and Anna Mae Rupard of Georgetown, Kentucky and one step-great grandson, Cole Horn of Clark County; a sister, Mary Harrison of Jacksonville, Florida; two half brothers and their wives, Paul and Ellen Wills and Herbert and Evelyn Wills; three sisters-in-law, Beulah Rupard and Woodie Wills, all of Clark County and Emma R. Howard of Centerville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Finley Wills.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Scobee Funeral Home by Elder Edward Reed. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Glenn Rupard, Stephen McMillan, Anthony Rupard, William Vaughn, Larry Rupard, and Joe Eric Lyle. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church and caregivers Sandy Cornett, Michelle Derossett, and Bonnie Perry.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Scobee Funeral Home.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Florence Reed, 1560 Clintonville Road, Winchester or Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Drive, Winchester.
