Platte W. Abbott, 51, native of the Chapman community, died Monday afternoon in the family home at 1118 West Seventh Street. He had been in ill health for many years. Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Thursday in the chapel of the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Martin Schroeder, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church, will offiate. Interment will be in the Chapman Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Abbott was born Oct. 22, 1912, at Chapman, a son of Platte and Marie Stratman Abbott. He attended school at Chapman and was graduated from Chapman High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marie C. Abbott; two brothers, Arnold J. and Orville A., both of this city; one sister, Miss Alma Abbott, Omaha, and by other relatives.
