She was born in Cleveland County, AR and her family moved to Weatherford, Parker Co., TX when she was four years old. Her family later moved to Cheyenne, OK after her mother died. She met and married James Larkin Prestridge 16 Apr 1911 in Cheyenne, Roger Mills Co., OK. Lark and Cynthia were the parents of eight children, Ola Lois, Lola May, Herbert June, Homer Lee, George Harold, Lillie Rae, John Leroy and Margaret Louise.
