Joe R. Brewer 75, Zionsville, Indiana, formerly of Ashville, Ohio, died April 10, 2004 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Joe was born September 23, 1928 in Mitchell, Indiana to Menlow and Novella Smith Brewer, who preceded him in death.
He was raised on his grandparent's farm and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1946. After graduation, Joe served in the United States Navy. In 1950, he married Maurine Gillaspie of Zionsville, Indiana.
Mr. Brewer was employed by American Standard, Marketing and Sales Construction Division for 35 years, retiring in 1984. During retirement, he enjoyed many hours on the golf course with his friends. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years Maurine Gillaspie Brewer; daughter Cathy Reusch; brother Donald Brewer; sister Margie McDowell and three grandsons Jason, Jonathan and David Reusch.
